66 Dart GT HT Whatsitgonnabe?
Has it been almost a month already? Wow. Well, I've been kinda busy. Spring is upon us - finally - and we've been working on the guest house on the coast. Spent a couple of weekends up there and managed to get the insulation in and all but the last floor boards down.
I finally tracked down a door handle for the old Audi A4 I've been working on all winter. It hasn't arrived yet, but that should get the driver's side door lock fixed and we can make the final decision whether to keep or sell it. Right now, we're leaning towards keeping it since the truly beat-up A6 we have is doomed. I won't be fixing it up any more and it's due for inspection May 30 at which time I'll drive it to the scrapper.
In other news, one of the rear doors on the 2010 A4 won't open from the outside. Apparently a common error so a little YouTube:ing and presto! the door lock excavated and identified. New one on order. Well, used, but new and hopefully functioning.
So, nothing on the car? No, unfortunately. BUT! I've finally assembled both compressor blocks. One had a broken reed valve so I bought some hardened stainless shim stock and made four new ones. The other got a good cleaning and new gaskets.
Next up is assembly. The cooler is now finalized and I've decided to run the blocks in parallell to get the most out of the cooler.
Oh! And I got my very own washing machine! For free! For those greasy work clothes. And look! Some extra horizontal space to fill up!
