I noticed on E-bay some GM and Ford reverse lenses for 1960's models look very similar to our Valiant/Barracuda. Does anyone know if they are a fit (or could be made to fit)? Thank you.

Those lens are repoped, but pricey. Maybe somebody here has some. I don't think you would want
to use a GM or Ford lens that is not correct.

I wonder why the reverse light lenses are so often punched out like they are, it does not seem like they stick out very far?

the 'nipple' extends about 1/4 inch past the bezel.

I was just about to order a pair of the cheap Mexican red tail light lenses (only need one). However, this AM I found a box of loose parts that I found in the trunk of the Formula S when I bought it about ten years ago. In the box was a pretty decent spare red tail light lens (just some minor spder webbing). I consider it my lucky day. Now it won't be quite so painful to order a pair of repro back-up light lenses for almost $100.00 each from Classic. I guess they offer coupon discounts all the time.

I don't think it's so much that they get punched out, as it is they didn't withstand the UV from being baked in the sun for 50 years.

Backup lenses at rpm parts canada $110.50. For a pair.

I purchased a set of lenses from Mexico and have no complaints. I've heard s lot of negative comments but mine look good, or at least better than what I had before.

No photos,i would like to see them before i pull the trigger.
Im growing weary of trying to find useable used ones.

OK I thought you already had the RPM lenses purchased snd installed.
No still waiting for turbododge1969 to ship the lens i gave him money for. Was only 3 months ago.
I will be placing an order with them soon as snow goes..

I just downloaded RPM Mopar catalog with a 2014 date on it. Found 65 Barracuda tail light lens lh for 93.50 #HM1266 and rh for 93.50 #HM1267. No listing for 65 Barracuda back up light lens.

However, I found 1964 Valiant bottom white lh for 49.25 #HM1242 and bottom white rh for 49.25 #HM1243.

Update: OK, on page M17 of the RPM catalog I found 64-65 Barracuda backup lamp lens (a pair) for 110.50 #HM1539.

I could not find anyway to order online but the Canadian phone number is listed.

I looked for online ordering too, guess they are up close and personal type people.
The antique fjord parts supplier is like that too.(george moir)

If they dont ship U.S., let me know, something can be worked out i’m sure.

JHC, I got mine new looking in a box full of lenses at spring fling 7 years ago for $5 a piece. I'll have to grab all I see next time and share the wealth.

Resin casting new ones would not be difficult except for the 2 piece nature of the lens with its white/clear ring.

Here are the Mexican taillight repops. Looks like MAYERS 1301L(R) are what they were molded from. Its a resin casting as there are small imperfections in the surface quality but for what you pay for them, they are nice. Im not sure the internal rib pattern is stock. DO NOT use WINDEX on these, or tighten in the bezel without a gasket. They will craze. The gasket allows the lens to expand and contract under the screw.
