My 69 fastback came with a stationery rear seat, years ago I scored a seat with folding hardware but something is missing. There must be a cam that goes on the square rod that turns to release the catches on each end of the seat top.
What parts am I missing?

The lock cams and more are missing. Do you have the hinge plates etc? The FSM has a decent breakout for review.

I have the hinges and the release hooks, seat locks upright but have to release each side manually to fold down. The release handle turns the square rod about a half a turn so I assumed I was missing a cam of some kind but have never seen it. I don't own a FSM :( Any body have a picture of the part (s)?

Pull the FSM from MyMopar.net it has a decent breakout.

I can take some pics tomorrow if needed.

Does the release turn the square bar and return, the crappy spring in mine was broke and modded it with two return springs no one will ever see.

I dont think so, I think I just moved the release knob back and forth. I remember some flat coiled springs in my parts anyway I'll check the website Thanks

It should pop back on it own. That spiral spring is junk. If you go or went as far as I did it is easy to weld in a couple tabs and install some simple straight springs to replace it.

Is the cam in that spring?

Just looking and thinking there is a trim bushing that goes on first then a washer next and the cam that is set on the shaft with a set screw. If the return does not work correctly pull the trim and back piece and the rest is pretty self explanatory once you see how it works.

The cams tend to break after awhile and can be difficult to find. And yes, the actuation lever is spring-loaded and should return on its own. On 64-68 Barracuda the folding rear seat was standard. It was optional in 69.

What have you learned from the FSM? After another look that seat back if 69 already had the rear piece that faces the back pulled in the pic. It is hard to see where the side trim mounted at the pivot bar point or should mount.

I learned it was to big to download on my phone lol! Haven't had time use the laptop yet, but I already figured I'll engineer something anyway and keep my eyes open at Carlisle
