Standard practice if you sell alot on Ebay. The guy is out of stock so he raises the price super high so he does not lose the ad. If he were to pull the ad and not get stock before two weeks Ebay erases the ad .

I want whatever the person that is thinking of buying them is smoking. Just because you have NOS it didn't come with a free pass for back door sex

I just mortgaged my house so I could buy these AND a Bigblock Abody motor mount !
I know a good investment when I see one....lol

Well, thay ARE worth something, but not THAT much.

In the end, they are worth what someone will pay. I don't think anyone will buy at that price, but who knows?

I don't know why you guys don't get it, this is standard practice. Even if you bought them he doesn't have them. There is just no other way to save the ad !!!

Damn, I got a set. Im gonna polish and sell them and build another stroker....

PS> what are they really worth in good shape??

The valve covers are not the expensive part. The rare part is the universal fit NOS Smallblock/big block valve cover gaskets that come with them. Makes it so you can mount them on any motor! $950 is for the gaskets with out the valve covers.

Now that's a really good question! I got a blue set a couple years ago brand new in the box. When I talk to Haggerty the other day I said I wanted two Grand on those valve covers alone. And that's the only thing I actually said anything special about. Does somebody have brand new blue ones in a box for sale? With a invoice sticker on them saying they were bought in 87 at a dealership up in Washington?
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that they're worth two grand by a long long long long long long shot, but how in the hell would I replace them?

there is no way he will find another set so why save the ad

why don't you buy them and see if they are available?

last pair I bought in 2007, $96.00 USD total with shipping included and they were mint, never been on a motor.
dude is smoking his socks (dirty socks). anyone silly enough to pay this should be beaten with them.

you don't find them often enough, especially in the box unused to save the add. I know cause I look for them all the time, my favorite valve cover.

True that. I don't mean to Hijack this thread, but here is a legit question. What do you guys think is a reasonable price. Be honest. I don't want to know what you think a fantastic bargain price is, but a price that if you wanted a pair, you'd be willing to pull the trigger.

I got a set just like that I'll let go for 50% off his price.....
