Run that 7 1/4 SG! All parts are still available and it's easy to work on. The bearings are probably good and the adjusters are not needed if your going to a green style bearing but I don't know if green bearings are available for the 7 1/4. That SG is 50% stronger than the peg legger. An auto should be fine with that rear.
