360 LA Oil Dipstick Calibration and Tube Installation

Thanks guys. I'm ready to install the oil dipstick tube and of course it interferes w/the fuel pump. Would it be best to install the tube then bend it or bend it before installation? I'm afraid if I install it, ty to bend it, the tube will split. What's the safest way?
