FYI. That is a 72-73, 340 externally balanced cast crank flexplate for rhe 727.

They did not make a 74-75 340 and the 71, 340 is internally balanced.
Summit and jegs description is incorrect.
 
Oh ok, I didn't know external balanced started in 72'. Thanks for the good info, I'll update the ad.

But I do have a question, just out of curiosity. Would a late 71' model (built in early-mid 1972') be internally balanced as well?
 
My 72 has an internally balanced 340. I think that depending on the production dates some 72's got the forged/internal balanced motor and later ones got the cast/external balance motors. Of course, I may be completely wrong too LOL!

My late built 72 3 speed on the floor Duster was external balanced.
I understand some early 72s were internal.
