Can't bring myself to part this rare 340 car out

I’ve seen so many motorcycles and cars I would kill to have as projects parted out and cut up for various tiny or meaningless reasons it is sickening.

The rare times I’ve been able to buy “un-titleable” cars that were for parts only it took nothing but a day and a trip or two to the DMV to have a worthwhile vehicle.

And all the “where will we get parts” crowd aren’t paying attention to the phases of fad-builds, the pro-streets, rat rods, or billet crowds that come from time to time and dump parts at dirt cheap prices because they’re “worthless junk”

Speaking of “buy it or I’ll scrap it crowd” I’ve seen a 440 that didn’t sell on here get scrapped (guy admitted he made $20 or something off it instead of taking $200 from someone else) and countless other non mopar stories of the same variety (2nd gen Fbody GM, Rare ford parts (427 toploader combo) Z1 kawasaki, etc)
Between the scrappers and the relentless parting out, the hobby will be very different in the near future
I am with you I try not to part anything out unless it is so rusted or destroyed it is pointless. Don’t forget the crowd that is selling everything overseas for fast profit. I saved my one owner charger from going overseas from the widow of the original owner who liked me better than the guy from Australia that wanted it. I am all about preservation. I do have a 73 charger that I am parting that was stored nose down improperly for 30 years and rotted so badly it wasn’t worth saving but it’s parts will be recycled to the fullest extent possible.
