installing stripes on 70 340 duster

At the rear/tail panel stripes. Does the dust cloud go over the black stripes or should the stripes be cut out so the dust cloud will be flush with the stripes ?

Mine is over the stripe...Never seen them any other way

Put mine over top on my 71. Not sure how you would ever cut that out without ruining the stripe kit?
