Right, that will work, but as I said before you've increased the spring rate by doing that.

The spring rate of the old springs doesn't change as they age, just the arch. So the ride height changes as the springs sag, but the spring rate stays the same. Increasing the rear spring rate from stock is ok to a point, but if you add too much the car won't ride well. And just adding leafs you don't have a good idea of what you're doing to the spring rate.
