So I ordered a new cam from Crower for the 400 and I had a single bolt cam and this one came in as a 3 bolt, but the new cam is abou 1/4 to 1/2 inch longer than the stock one? Before I send it back and call Crower Monday can anyone verify this is for sure wrong.

dam guy, there us a lot of diff. between 1/4 and a half inch !

This is normal the front of the cam fits in to a recess in the timing gear I think its about a 1/4 in. The front journal is wider on a 3 bolt.

I think your good if the bearings line up. Like they say, the 3 bolt has a recess in the timing gear. You just need the 3 bolt timing chain or gear drive.

Here is the rear cam bearing. On the far end of the oil galley it has been marred. The old hot rod guys all said it’s fine but it looks pretty bad. What do you think?
