Hi. Does anyone know if a 3 speed wiper motor will work with a two speed switch. I realize the plug in is different and I would still have only 2 speeds but would the switch work if I was able to get the wiring straightened out. Thanks Bobby

dash harness plug is the same for either switch. the configuration is different for each switch. all 3 speed motors used the electric washer so an extra wire comes through the bulkhead connector and the sinle wire then goes on the switch. I added a 3 speed motor to my 1970 Dart over 30 years ago and that is what I can remember

It will work but you cant turn them off & have the wipers go down to the bottom of windshield. They will stop when you turn the switch off.

Some are year specific and 3spd switch with 3spd motor as far as I know. Unless you want to MacGyver

Thanks for all the help. We just installed a six pack on my brothers Duster and the air breather hits the wiper motor. We're trying to figure out the best way to get around it. Bobby

Not sure of other years but 67 barracuda 3spd motor lays "flat". Parallel to firewall. So to speak. Might save space?

Yes all 3spd motors are made that way. His car has a 2spd wiper motor that sticks out towards the engine, that's why I was wondering if the 3spd motor will work with a 2spd switch. I should have given more details in my first post. Bobby

I think i have a good 3 speed setup that I could sell. Might even have correct electric washer bottle.
I am not available to get to parts till Saturday

Yes it does work. I have a 3 speed motor with a 2speed switch. I have it for the same reason as you described. If you do a search, or maybe someone remembers the website for wiper motor diognostics. I believe you just need to switch over a couple of wires on the wiper motor plug.

it will only have 1 speed, and you will need to shut it off when the wipers are down. change to a 3 speed switch

You may have got yours finish but for future reference. I put photos in.
So I got my wiper motor out of a 1990 DODGE van and it is a 3 speed. My car is a 72 that came with a slant 6. I really do not care about the 3 speed as long as i got 2 speeds working. All i did was wire up the same colored wires which I still need to solder but i was doing my test run. So i got 2 speeds and the wipers go back in to place . I did have to drill a hole on the bottom left hand side because the the hole did not line up. You can trim that hole off after you get your set up I will at a later date. I used the arm that came off my original wiper motor. This worked for me using a full size DODGE VAN 1990 year wiper motor. It is not pretty right now but it works.
