1967 273 stuck water pump bolt

Go for it, if it breaks you will have to remove the cover. Don't feel bad if it does, these cars are easier to work on than new junk.....

I love the look on millennials faces when I open the hood and point to the alternator and carb and dist. No power anything or AC you can almost sit in the engine compartment while working on the engine.

Good news... I got the engine warmed up just under full operating temp (coolant was warm but not hot) and tapped on the bolt a few times with a hammer, nothing much as I was limited by the fan. Used a 3/8 socket wrench, no cheater bar, and pushed with all my might and it turned. Another budge and a little coolant flowed from the water pump gasket.

Thanks for all the tips, especially the air hammer and water, that one is in my back pocket for later!

Maybe you know a mechanic with an induction heater?

looks like a soldering gun with a coil tip. Does it heat the area around the bolt? You can grind the head off the bolt and slide the case off the block. Then you can attack it with block heat, or kroil or wax. Whatever your favorite bolt breaking flavor is. Worst case is you can cut and drill it out.
