Do you know the EXACT camshaft specs? 6-10 degrees initial timing is where a stock engine is timed. The 72 340 is a low compression engine. It can probably stand 18-21 degrees initial timing with a total of around 36 degrees all in by 2500-3000 RPM depending on vehicle weight and rear gear ratio.
