My thoghts are , I've always bought cams in a kit, accept with a solid lifter.
I know about rhoads lifters.
I just wondered if there is any reason unknown to me to use matched manufacturer sets ?
Absolutely no reason at all as long as all parts are new. It is entirely possible that the matched set of cam and lifters you buy from Comp, Crane and the like are made by different companies anyway, so I wouldn't sweat it.
