The 340 is the biggest POS V8 Chrysler ever made.

The Chrysler HP engines were some of THE most reliable. They didn't use large by huge camshafts requiring high valve spring pressures......for the most part. Chevy sure did that and still got beat by milder engines. Even the 440 Six Pack was mild. Had the Road Runner cam, but ground on a low taper design to save friction. I've always wondered what that would show on a dyno. Probably not much......it was a novel idea though.
