I was wondering if anybody remembers this 69 Dart. It was bracket raced at Baylands raceway for quite a while in the 80s until Baylands closed. I've talked to the lady who raced it and her husband but they don't remember who they bought it from or who they sold it to. It was originally silver with no stripe but painted some kind of red later and had fenderwell headers and a roll bar after it was painted red. Thanks in advance!

Ah the memories. Sorry I don’t recognize it. I wonder if it was a Fremont Drag club car. They had many regulars there every week. A few women drivers.

Bayland Raceway has a pretty big Facebook page with tons of the coolest period photos but I haven't seen one of this car.

Silly question, but....Have you tried joining their page and posting your question and pictures there? (Just thinking the obvious....)

I need to fix my post as I was half asleep. It was the Hayward Drag club. They were regulars and tough on the tree.

Ha! Not yet, I've been enjoying the car and it's only been lately that it's been on my radar screen of trying to find the car's history. I was given the contact info for the couple that raced it and i was in touch with them but, though the loved the car and were interested in where it is, it was just a race car. No previous or later ownership info, which is really what i'm after.

I found the car by word of mouth in Calgary, Alberta. I have the title and documents that say it was imported in 2004. The story I got from the guy that I bought it from is that it was found in a trucking outfit storage yard around Fremont by someone that he knows. That's all that I know, really.

A picture of it from this past Saturday. I've replaced the inner fenders and put the turn signal indicators back on, I have a set of rocker mouldings to go on still. The roll bar was cut out of it before I bought it but the plates are still under the carpet. The 440 is out of a 75 New Yorker but it still clips along pretty well. The original A4 silver paint is still on the door jams and firewall.
