So I ordered a replacement reman passenger side KH Caliper for my 70 Duster, All went well with the install. Then I decided I might as well do the other side. I ordered the Drivers side from them. Got the part and it was for the wrong side. Double checked to see if I ordered it wrong and I didn't. A few emails back and forth and I sent the wrong one back that they paid the shipping on and I was assured that they have sold hundreds of these drivers sides and only 4 have been returned for the wrong part. They send another one and of course I got what I thought I would get. Another wrong caliper. Now I have to go through this crap all over again. Has anyone else had this issue ordering the a1-Cardone P/N 18-4406?

**** auto is a joke. they charged me more in shipping than the actual throttle cable cost me , they sent me the wrong one . to top it off they acknowledged it but then expected me to pay for shipping back the wrong one to get my new replacement. I told them to eat a dick.
I wouldn't buy a valve stem from them

You might check your local O'Reilly, as that's a good number for them. They'll certainly have to order it, but you'll be dealing with someone face to face.

The clown that stocks the bin in the warehouse is usually the culprit! I would run into that issue with Mac Tools and also with Summit . After a couple trys they will get it right.

They sent me a POS clutch kit last fall. I don't know what I was thinking buying a clutch from Rock, but the pressure plate was not assembly at the right height. The clutch fingers ran into the disc spring when the pedal was pushed to the floor. I ended up having to pay the return shipping in order to get a refund.

Yea, it's touch and go with the Rock. I will say I have got a few parts from them at super low prices. I ordered a brake light switch from them for my 88 Ram D350. Pretty big switch with multiple plugs $1.66. Local parts store wanted over $30.Was it Rock Auto's mistake ? Also I ordered weatherstrip for the same truck $19 to do both doors. When the package came in it looked like a fork lift ran it over. What was inside was junk. I e-mailed them for a return and got a reply that they would send out a new set and don't bother returning the damaged.

I have bought a lot from Rock Auto and for the most part things have been fine. I've had a couple of problems with brakes for both my 02 WRX and my Duster. I sent back the wrong part to them this time on my dime and out of convenience to me I ordered the Centric Reman caliper. The part that sucks the most is they have no phone customer service and the fact that I had to pay for shipping on a mistake that was not mine. I should've went to NAPA or Oreillys to begin with and my car would've been back on the ground by now. What good are good prices if its a crap shoot on getting the right parts when ordered?

Use RockAuto a lot. There have been a few mistakes, usually boxed wrong. When they're wrong, I have to return it from Canada. I'm ahead big $$$, despite the few mistakes, which I have also experienced locally ...

I've only had two issues and I use them a LOT.

Torque converter seak was not clearly labeled or easy to find on site, caused me to order the wrong part but was only $2 and very small shipping.

Ordered a pair of calipers with sequential left/right part numbers.
One was as described, the other was a "universal" casting with bosses for either side brake line but only one drilled. Cosmetic only, but didn't expect that with sequential PN.

Everything else has been good.....and cheap.

I guess most of ya live further from local parts stores than I do.

I specifically ordered what they advertised as "Timken" bearings for a Mopar rear axle. What I got was some Chinesium brand I've never heard of. When I complained, they directed me to their service agreement, which you have to agree to before they will process your payment, which says they can substitute parts at their discretion. I told them they just bought $50 of the worst advertising they could hope for.

had a similar problem with a master cylinder//MOPOWERS// is right,,, order from Summit !!!!!!!!!!!!

Well the third times a charm....Got the right caliper in today and was able to install it with only one issue. One of the bolt holes which holds the clip to keep the pad in place was not threaded near the top so the original type bolt which is about 3/8 inch was not long enough. Had to improvise a little. Its all buttoned up and back on the ground. Probably won't be able to take her out for a test drive til the weekend.

Glad to hear they finally got it right. For what it’s worth,(knock on wood) I’ve used Rock Auto a dozen times, never had a problem, they did send me an alternate Infiniti glass regulator which worked just fine.

Rock???? I have to hunt and peck. If I order 3 parts, they would come from 3 different warehouses, and charge me stupid $ for shipping too. 95% of the time, I get my parts from Summit, Jegs, O reilly, NAPA, EvilBay. Never from Classic, Year One, Auto Zone, etc et etc

A trick for the warehouse A/B/C issue is to add about 4 of each part from different MFG to the cart, then see which ones are from the same warehouse and remove the others from the cart.

Easier to do with parts where you trust more than one brand name.

I have used rock auto many times. I also use them for research since their photos are good and their info usually sound. Never had a problem and got some great deals, like a booster w/ MC for my 65 Newport for $70 (showed up on the site one day, box was dusty from sitting on some store's shelf for decades). I try to order a bunch of stuff at once for all my cars and swap part choices to minimize shipping since it can be as much as the parts, but that is true from all web sites exc. w/ Amazon Prime.

I've used RockAuto quite a bit and been very happy. Wherever there are humans, mistakes are gonna happen. Stop whinin about first world problems, get over it and move on.

I did parts, till 2013 . A1 Cardone wasn't the best ,on packaging.

They also have links to the manufacturers specification on almost all of their parts.

That's pretty darn cool, and a LOT of web programming work.

I ended up getting the correct caliper when I ordered the Centric piece....All went well with the install and I now have good brakes....On to the next project.

just use the feature that aggregates the shipping locations and tells you what is cheaper. Sometimes the .40 cent more part is located 3000 miles closer to you.

Lordco’s selection of brands is getting worse by the year. They have managed to squeeze out a lot of the independent shops over the years and now they are dropping lines since there isn’t as much competition anymore.

Thankfully there are other options such as Rock Auto or NAPA. I bought brake rotors and pads from Rock Auto for my daily driver (exactly what I ordered arrived). Saved a bunch, even factoring in the exchange rate, and got a better quality brand than what Lordco carried. Replaced the fuel pump in my Scamp the other month. Lordco only carried a knock-off brand so stopped by a NAPA to pick up a Carter fuel pump. NAPA’s price was a little higher than the Lordco knock-off but I expected that.
