Gopro + cuda = test and tune

I bought me a GoPro last year but couldn't get their software to work with my computer and or laptop. Dug back in, this spring and was able to get it to work on my laptop. Got the suction cup on my front fender and when to the test and tune at are local 1/8-mile track. I bought the GoPro because I’m usually by myself.

Today I had my buddy helping me because his dragster was not back together yet.

My goal was to break into the 7s (1/8 mile)........as was my goal last year. My best was an 8.079(didn't make it out to the good air in the spring last year (6600 foot, today adj started out at 8800 and went to 9261 by days end.)

I tried to keep some of the funnier comments, but most had to go to keep it under 15 minutes. 8 hours crunched into 15 minutes.

First run was slow 8.123@85.6 2nt run was an 8.029 not recorded, third run I tried to make my 3-speed auto into a four speed by shifting 1-2-3 back to 2..........then three. 4th run was a problem because I pulled the shifter into 2nt at the launch Yup 2sp auto this time: lol: It ran only .347 slower. Run number 5 I finally got serious about it. As noted in video ;) and made my first 7, a 7.98, Backed it up with a 7.99 and then I added 2 degrees timing.(33 too 35 total) Don't know if it was the air getting bad at the end of the day or it didn't like the 2 more degrees timing. Stayed in the 8's and mph from 86.5 to 86.2, 86.3

I started air pressure in the back slicks at 12 psi. we keep adding air pressure until it spun at 20 psi. when back to 18. My last run i drop the psi back to 15(because 15 psi, seam too high to me) and turn the Gopro at the back slick. First one at normal speed and 2nt at Slow Mo. kind of interesting............

Watching it on this site the video was jumping around a lot. had to go to youtube to watch it. Probably my pos computer. Will have to see if it does the same thing on my laptop.

You're hitting the tire pretty hard and it's bouncing back. You need more converter and some double adjustable shocks.

Couldn't agree more, have 20 year old MP race shock and old stock shock up front. converter???? stock 11 inch converter that i had tweaked some 12 + year ago to stall at 2500 with my 340. 408 stretches it out to around 3100 rpm.
Converter is at the top of my list..........but has been for the past 3 years. Seams like every time a get a good stash saved something happen.
A two step would be nice......actually i have one. but the only thing it does is turn on a light next to my dash when i stall it to 2200.(Pore mans 2 step) :D

Actually I figured I was going to get crap about my baggy butt and my simulation of my wheel hope.:lol:

you ought to get those triple heavy assed front wheels off it !
 
Those wheels are just a small problem in this "triple heavy assed Car":D. 3860 with me in it. full interior. Actually, it probably was a little bit more after I added the frame connectors.

Someone needs to kick me square in...the.......well you get what i mean.
I own a 70 cuda and that IS a 70 cuda in the video. And i called it a Challenger!:mad::mob: :lol:
When i seen him running 2 class, i thought it was Coool. When he won both....Well I felt it was necessary to share with the brotherhood of Mopar.:D

It didn't start out well. I dropped down 2 jet size. At the race track i found a big stumble off the hit. Didn't bring my jet kit, let alone some squirters. When begging for some squirters, found a 35 which was 4 size bigger then what i had and installed it in the front squirter. fix the problem...... unless i didn't let the eng come up to temp before trying to launch the car. (beginning to believe the double bump of the line before, "not enough quieter"instead of suspension!?
So got that fixed and then i had traction problem. spun all the way threw 1st gear. Well the 18 psi pressure when out the window and when back to 15.
At this point i put the gopro to the fender,point it at the rear slick. Didn't have another problem with traction.
Video of 2nt round(we have a first round buy back if you lose first round) semi finals i went up against a bike. his dial was 8.17 and mine was 8.13. Basicly we left together.lifted and coasted through the finish line for the win. Final round i find out that the sled i'm racing is broke. Automatic win.......But i didn't want to win it that way so he jumped on his Sons sled. We decide to make the final round a 2 out of 3 race. I only have the first race, of the final three on the gopro because i forgot to turn it on the last 2 rounds:rolleyes:
YES that is a red light in my lane:D But it was only red by .005 So now i was read for the final "rounds"
2nt round i changed my dial in 8.09 the sled didn't get his dial in close enough and it was a easy win.
How ever the final, final round, was not that easy!!!
I wish i had turn my Gopro on. About half track i check my mirror and he is coming on strong. look at the finish line, back in the mirror.... it going to be close......TAP THE BRAKE AND HE BLOWS BY ME AT THE FINISH LINE...........he had the better light but broke out. I ran a 8.09 on a 8.09 Wow that was close.
Here is the video mostly of my back tire but i got the go pro turned around to show my red light :D
O yah, are printer only prints out one et slip. So the winner get the white slip and the loser get the yellow one.
