Well being a die hard Mopar guy, there wasn't much options for me when it came to the truck; Dodge, Plymouth or maybe a IH... I really wanted a pre 48 truck with the pointy nose but I had a chance to look at one during Spring Fling in LA back in 13 or so and when I saw how little room was in those cabs I decided to re-look at what I wanted. Additionally the 46/47 trucks are pretty hard to come by and I fell into the 52.
It has a 88 Dakota front clip with disc brakes, a 70 Challenger 8 3/4 rear with 3.55's in a Suregrip. I am using a SB 727 that came out of my Cuda along with the Cuda rear leaf springs. I built that truck in 14 months and had a blast. For anyone who likes to build cars I highly recommend doing at least 1 rat rod type vehicle; no rules and lots of options. I used a $99 street rod tilt steering column with a Grant's knock off tuff wheel. I even fabricated a fuel filler tube that features a functional flip lock off a Charger (or maybe A body Cuda).
I used to know a few guys who worked for FN, I was pretty active in the industry for a very long time (kind of still am).
