Turning back the clock

-
Spent a few hours today at the body shop taping the paint mask of the graphics off......never ends. Tomorrow, back to building K packages.

Awesome work!
The car is going to look a lot better than when it was first built!

looks great thanks to the meticulous work done by Chad at Boutwell Customs. sure is gonna be fun to start assembling my own stuff again.

To all that knew my buddy Scruffs, I am sorry to announce his passing. Besides being deaf (from ear mites before we met), I learned when he came my way (9 years ago) he had FIV, which is a kitty version of AIDS and eventually causes them to literally starve themselves to death. Since around mid April of this year, he went from 11 lbs to under 5, but traveled with me to the shop every day even as he dwindled away to nothing. In the last few weeks, our vet verified several times that although he was steadily losing weight, he remained alert and in no pain...... and with the help of some appetite stimulation meds for Scruffs, we were gonna go down swinging.

Scruffs finally told me it was his time to go on the 1st of June. Thankfully, I held him thru his last breath.

Scruffs is deeply missed.....Rest in Peace my faithful friend.

Sorry for your loss. Pets become family very quickly. Some people say that animals have no souls. I say BS! When we are ultimately reunited with our loved ones in glory, our pet loved ones will be there too.

Thank you for that, and I agree.

Last Friday night I had a dream where Scruffs came to me....and he was healthy, better than ever. At first I thought it wasn't him because of his size and the noticeable scar on his nose was missing. He had gotten his snorkus (nose) half ripped off when he was very young and in the wild, after all he was a pure breed WV brown cat. In the dream, I quickly realized it was the Scruffs......just letting me know he is in a good place and waiting for me. Needless to say, it was very comforting.

Scruffs, may you rest in peace. (Actually.....I think he had been doing that all along).

I guess you could call that "alert"......gotta remember, it is a union shop, and he was the head of the local.

Hey....that looks like my blue chair.

I am excited about the upcoming week. The final touches on the Flash paint job will be completed and Saturday the Hemi gets "run in" on the dyno in Michigan. Bro John and I will be there....just for fun.

Happy and sad times all at once. Sorry to hear about Scruffs. :( We're at our camper in Myrtle Beach this weekend, and there are quite a few free range cats that have figured out this is a good place to live. I saw one who is a Scruffs impersonator!

Thanks Jackie, his passing crushed me like a grape...but I'm getting over it. Keeping focused on hot rod projects and time are the best medicine.

Kinda funny but true, Scruffs got his name from my (prissy) neighbor in WV. She (25 year old married to 42 year old ) came wheeling up to my driveway in her Mercedes SUV, took one look at him and said "that is the scruffiest cat I have ever seen"....I laughed and said, you just named him.....until them, we just called him my buddy. Two weeks later, after some food and a little TLC she didn't even think he was the same cat.

After Scruffs started hanging around on a regular basis, I thought I should have him checked out. About an hour after dropping him off, the Vet called and because of his condition (it was a laundry list), wanted to know if I wanted to have him put down. My reply was....NO WAY, give him his shots and we will see how he does. That was over 9 years ago.

We had a lot of fun together......my wife says we were a lot alike.
can't hear(he was deaf)....speaks loud(he actually roared)...and stinks.(that only because he got blamed for the fart odor.... a lot.)

sorry to go on, but thinking about him brings a smile to face..... time get back to Hot Roddin'.
