cool. thank you. Looks like they did a few things different. wonder if they will take mine in on trade and give me the redesigned unit. I'll try!

Since this thread is already brought back does anyone know if you need a mini starter with a torqeflite 727? Do Dougs need a mini starter too?
Mine is a 360 and manual trans with circa 1999 TTIs. I initially installed a Factory original gear-reduction starter. A year or two later, I had had enough of that trademark Mopar starter sound, and swapped in the mini..... click/ brooom/rumpidy rumpidy; gone is the Ruh ruh ruh ruh ruh ruh. So no, you don't NEED the mini, you can run the stocker if you have mind to. But IIRC it gets captured by the header, so if you need to take it off.... it's a PITA. The mini falls right off.
The more I think of it, the less I remember loosening the header to remove the pig-heavy OEM starter. Yeah, I think I was able to get it out without.

The new bracket looks to be stronger in the area where mine flexed (older bracket). I just looked at the Web site and they don't list the new bracket as a separate item for sale. Show them this thread, maybe you can shame them into sending you the new bracket for free.
Well, after a phone call and a couple emails, QuickTime (Holley) is supposedly sending me the updated version of the bell. I first have to send mine in, they sent me a UPS return label. Hopefully all goes well, and they are able to send me the new one. I'll keep ya posted.

I know this will draw some uproar....but how often does a SFI flywheel and clutch explode ? Assuming high quality bolts like arp are used .....

Here's an update. Got the Bell Housing today. So I was right, a few things have changed...The first thing is they now supply a steel block plate to replace the Aluminum one...

Here's the old starter pocket, its open, requiring you to bolt on the nose cover.

So it looks to be much better, I hope I have only a few less issues to work out now. I still don't know how the z-bar and clutch fork will line up. Stay tuned.

Well I had mine in the car today and I found that this extra bracket they included for whatever reason is in the way of the fire wall! So right where I drew the line, I'm cutting it straight off.

Pulled it out and made the cut. Now I gotta mess with the linkage for a while to get that right. pullin my hair out. :)

How did it turn out?

Turned out good. I sent the bell back to QuickTime so they can install an inspection cover to run the Soft Lok adjustable clutch. I have it back now, but the car is in the shop getting some body work done. I’ll post pics of the inspection window if you like.

I am also now using a hydraulic clutch setup.
