Nice car. Proud of you...but I don’t like the ride of 17’s I don’t want 17’s I won’t have 17’s on MY 67 Cuda. Don’t care what anyone says. On an older car their garbage. And I’m not older. That’s not why. Nuff said.

I have 15x6 and 15x7 on my 69 Dart. 4 inch bolt pattern from wheel vintiques. BF Goodrich, and Cooper make tires for them. I have the BFGs. Coopers on another car. I don't care about it handling like a sports car. It's just for cruising around. They are safe, and I like the selection better than 14 inch wheels.

I too have a 2nd gen Barracuda. I like the big 15s (27/28 tall) back there and I like 24 to 25 up front. And I like the look and the ride of the 60/50 series.
And after driving the same quality BFG/Coopers for so many years,(since year 2000) I have gotten used to drifting. S'no big deal on a DD. We buy special tires for drag-racing, and I would get special wheels/tires for other events too. But for a DD, whatever floats yer boat, and just learn their warning signs and limits.
BTW, 295/50-15s brake pretty hard on the back with no proportioning and 7/8 to 15/16 wcs....... to match the KH 4-pistons up front....... with no tendency of the back to come around. So if you find yourself running out of stopping distance, Mopar was IMO, far to conservative with the rear brakes .

It would be a shame to cover them up with Moon Bonneville wheel covers though  the vision for the '72. Must research 17" steelies for the back anyway. Seems to be a much better selection of tires for that size rim.

Must be a California thing. But then, who cares. I’ve seen and run, cooper, big and many others.255/60r15,,275/60r15,,, 235,245,. The list goes on. In 65,70,75 series tires from Michelin, Goodyear, cooper, big, and many others. Hi and lesser quality. Just because you chose to run 17’s which are hard riding bricks,,,imo don’t act like there’s no 15” choices... LMFAO!!!

With absolutely no offense intended, I hope that folks who hold opinions similar to this one keep their minds open to the fact that they may have no idea what good modern tech tires are really like. The difference is vast. If you could somehow fit BGF Radial T/As to a McLaren 720s and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 tires to a 340 Duster, my money would be on the Duster in a drag race, at least for the 1/8. Modern tires are no joke.

I don't see any point in arguing about it. Not everyone is trying to optimize performance. Some of us have a particular driving experience in mind or a particular look that just doesn't fit with anything bigger than stock/stock +1" diameter wheels. Just don't make the mistake of thinking that the 15" street legal tires out there are worth a damn in objective performance numbers.

I linked to the 80-treadwear Avon tires on the previous page...I'm still dying to see some performance measurements on those to see if it's worth paying 2x the money to have them imported from England.

I'm trying to imagine 17" rims with my dog dish hubcaps. That'd be comical.

Something I am working on right now , the wheel is a 17 x 7 steel wheel....
