1972 Duster Build with my Daughter

I also bypassed the ammeter. Converted it to volts. GM runs their output back to the battery. Mopar runs it thru the firewall to ammeter gage first then to battery. This becomes a problem. So much so that chrysler used to bypass the bulkhead connector at the factory on police cars w bigger alternators.

Yup, I left it alone on the Coronet. I bought all new M&H harnesses so I knew the connections where first rate and I rebuild the original 38A alternator. The connectors are rated for a bit over 50A (again if clean and tight) so I was not worried about it in the Coronet. The Duster has a '76 date coded alternator, I have not done to research to see what size it is but I will likely just rebuild it and the Duster will get new M&H wiring inside and out too so I may or may not do that upgrade. If I do I will likely just use an unused socket and run a parallel wire through the connector itself, on the Coronet I used 2 unused sockets to run my fuel pump power for my FiTech.
