I have a 74 Dart. 8 1/4 rear. It’s been suggested I replace my leaf springs. I found some on summit. Here’s the pic of the right side? Are these recommended? It’s just a daily driver.

To answer your question NO those are not the correct springs for your car , that is a SS spring for a gen 1 abody , look at the weight rating . If you want the SS package for your car including the infamous stink bug look of the passenger side rear being higher than the drivers side you are looking for the Mopar Performance SS / racing spriong that end with the numbers 002 for one side and 003 for the other those are the correct weight rated springs for your 3200 lb car .

If you don't want racing springs you can just get the Mopar performance XHD springs instead those will have the same arc so your car will be the same height on both side , be aware if you go to the SS springs you will also need longer rear shocks to ngo with them .

I looked on general springs website. It doesn’t list a left and right side. It only lists one. It’s $99. Is that right? And would I need 2 of the same?

Super stock leaf springs are more than what you want for a daily driver; your teeth are going to rattle with SS springs. You want the 340 leaf springs that ESPO sells.

Do a search on here for leaf spring replacements and you will find the info you need..

Overall, Shamrock, how's the project going?

So far it’s going fine. We set a timeline for mid August. It’s gonna be close but I think we’ll get it done... enough. Lol.

I like to ride in 3/4 ton trucks so SS springs don't bother me a bit. When it comes to the stink bug thing.... Lowering blocks cure that pretty easily.

yeah don't pay for higher springs then buy lowering blocks ffs , xhd springs are equal arch and plenty stiff , to answer the question of buying 2 yes you do need 2 , the ss springs are designed for hard launch high torque us , the higher passenger side spring absorbs the hit more and that equals everything out .for street use just buy a pair of matched springs .

I ordered the XHD mopar springs and to my surprise there was a left and right part #. So I ordered left & right. When I installed them sure enough car sat lop sided! I was not at all happy!:BangHead: So decided to order one more drivers side which was lower arch not so high like right side 4x4 look. Now looks even and right stance.:)

Would have returned right side to offset cost but dealer will not do any returns on mopar performance parts!! Sux big time!

Same with me. I also bought MP XHD springs for my 69 Dart thinking that they were the same spring, left and right, which they weren't. Now I too have a tilted car.

I just ordered new springs from FirmFeel a bit pricey but have heard good reviews. Will post pics when I get them next week.

Anyone who orders Mopar XHD springs should read this post or do a search for “XHD” on this forum as a lot of folks have made the same mistake. I was one of them too!

Just order 2 drivers to keep a nice stance. Or 2 left springs but will sit too high in the rear in my opinion.

The left side one has the lower spring rate. If you installed two right side springs, then the car would sit a little higher that it would sit with two life side ones installed.
