first test run . new headers

Can't get by with using the short oil filter instead of the long one? I use the short oil filter with my TTI headers with no adapter needed.

I did not have to take off the existing 90* filter adapter . It all fit fine even with the long filter.. instructions are misleading . to say the least !

These dougs d450 headers fit like a glove !! we took our time installing them ... it took 8 hours start to finish .. not bad .. instructions are misleading though in some areas.
did not have to take the torsion bars out or the right angle oil adapter .
just had to spread the tubes some to clear torsion bar on drv. side.
brake proportioning block was fine , just loosened up the clamp bolt .
idler arm bolt ....take off and drop down linkage .
I used a mini starter
leave the starter out until you get both flanged tube bolts all tightened then put starter in.
everything clears around Z-bar ..did not have to take that out .
and ..........that was it !
easiest headers I ever installed !!
oh yeah ............ took it out for a little beat run and what a dfference it made.. that little 273 can breath now..
frys both tires at a roll now.. watch the :burnout::burnout::burnout::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers:videos.

Pedal to the metal .... first full run .. wooooow !
frying those tires thru 1-2 .

what difference ..!!
it can now breathe !

Mahalo John for posting. that helps. if you can or would. Can you get a picture of underneath? drivers side? trying to visualize the torsion bar passing thru...

just received my headers for the 273 dartcharger..
They are a work of art.
love them !
What do you guys think of them ?

Do you guys remember which oil filter adapter it requires ?
instructions says straight but sures appears the 90* will work also.
Building a 408 for my 66 dart and need headers but dont want fenderwell headers. Not many options out there. Are these my best bet to try?? Any advantages over the tti beaders??

Yes, theses are nice but tti has a larger collector size. hooker has semi fenderwells also. I have them on my 65 cuda . very nice . have to cut small holes in fender wells those.

Stroker, Did you have any trouble with the brake lines? I have Doug's on my 66 D/Dart and had to pull the engine and trans to correct some problems. The original owner had SSBC brakes installed with a duel master cylinder. The routing of the metal brake lines is a joke. I have a complete set of lines and was wondering if I install them, will I have trouble, interference issues, with the 2 lines and new brake block?

If I remember correctly , I had to loosen up the proportioning valve block that is anchored to the frame and just push it over for a little more clearance maybe a 1/4". That's it. I had a single brake master on it. I'll bet you can tweak those lines and all will be fine.

Thanks. I'll have to check the single line brake master cylinder on my other Dart. Just to get an idea how it runs. This will be interesting. I think I have to reroute the 3/8" fuel line also. It goes up and over the inner fender but it is pieced together .
