Got the van mileage up to about 15.5 mpg with the old /6 3spd manual. was actually happy with that, but had a plan on freshening every thing up and swapping in a 904. Has been a lot of work and $$$$ Have mostly all the bugs worked out, been road testing and it's running just as sweet but the auto made it more simple to drive ,especially for my wife ! We plan on a few trips to the smokey's and then maybe out west with bike in tow. One of my biggest concerns was a shifter for the 904 . But after installing it I just used the original 2-3 shift rod on the column , perfect length and bends to fit the 904,just reverse shift pattern . I can live with that. Had to work out the kickdown adjustmet ( thanks to you guys who replied to my post on that ). Haven't run a mpg on it yet, expecting a little less with the auto, using an Oregon Cam regrind that was recommended by a couple guys here in the new engine build along with milling the deck and head a total of 80 thou, .30 over on the bore, head all rebuilt with hardened seats. Spent more on this slanty than I used to build my big block race motors, Crazy.

That's tight! My father in law gave me a Dodge script off one of those. Q: What's up with the 1bbl on the Clifford 6=8 intake? Mileage? You may be better off with a progressive 2bbl.

You could always hunt up one of them 727 slant six adapter plates and put an A500 behind it.

If he had the longer 108in wheelbase, that might work. His current driveshaft is probably no more than around 15/18 inches. The extra length of the A500 would might leave a driveshaft length of just a couple of U Joints lol!

Yes for fuel mileage and i had all the linkage for it. Ended up using stock intakes. Couldn't get it all to work with the shifter rods and kickdown linkage. Not a lot of room in the engine box. Trying to keep it simple and cost effective.

Yep cut drive shaft down to 15" c/c.

I listed the Clifford intake and header for sale to recoop some $$ spent .If the 904 works out nice I will have a complete 903 manual setup for sale if anyone might want it. Flywheel to driveshaft.

Of course your in Florida... :-( TBI off a jeep? could go EFI.

Ya a little heavy to ship that far. If I roadtrip that far I'll let you know.As far as the TBI , I thought of that but I'm old school (not that smart) and want to keep it simple enough to fix on side of the road with a hammer and screwdriver and bailin wire . LOL.

Nice rig man!

I had a spare parts truck with an Auto. it went bye bye before I could get the trans out. But I have a shifter somewhere... hmm

Ran the van down the highway today to check some MPG and Performance. I had previously run almost a tank of gas out just running around town .checked MPGs on that and if came in at 15.7 with the new slanty and 904. I was very pleased with that , so then hit the highway with a full tank headed north on I 75 for about 50+ miles @ 70 MPH (kinda felt like the sweet spot) turned back and fill her up again and came in @14.6 MGH, not to bad but with pulling my bike on a small trailer I"m not sure it'll have enough balls to pull a big hill much less the rockies. It has 2.94s in the rear now, may look for some 3.23s in a while. But over all I was pretty happy with it ,no overheating, it was like 94 degrees today, no leaks .

Man that' awesome! I've got 3:55s in mine. Spare parts truck had a 3:90 and a automatic lol. That would get ya up some hills!

Just came in from removing all the bolt ons so I can pull the busted slant tomorrow night.

I just got 67 outta storage last week. Felt good but sad. Gentleman that stored it passed away(liver cancer diagnosed and gone in 3 months). Met his wife Judy for the first time. My Dad and uncle all stored vehicles there. Nice guy that did things right. His grandson, is a 20 yr old NHL defenceman for the St Louis Blues. He was a very proud Papa.
I'm babbling sorry lol.

Congrats on the van, that is beautiful.
