Hi everyone, a couple of questions:

I realise this is a BIG ASK, but I am searching for a NOS (or good second hand) GT badge for 1964 Dart GT, which is the small plastic badge fitted into the chrome/diecast bonnet ornament, as shown in the picture.

Also, (and/or) I have tried a company called "Emblemagic" who have them listed as reproductions, however I have found them impossible to contact, so far they have not returned numerous emails. Are they still trading? Has anybody dealt with them? What is the quality like?

If you’d like I can try calling/emailing them.

I did try phoning once (unsuccessful) but not sure what the time difference was from Australia. Don't put yourself out, but if you wouldn't mind giving them a call... At least we'll know if they're still in business, if they are let them know somebody has been emailing them via their CONTACT US link regarding a GT Badge! Product Code = C64DG05
And maybe get a reliable email contact!

Whenever you have a solution please post for the rest of us lonely early a body folks

For @Nigel Hely , @CCHHAARRGGER! and any other members who might be interested in Emblemagic. I gave them a call and got right through to a live human! We discussed the emblem that Nigel wants - the 64 Dart GT emblem - they do not have any in stock and are not planning to reproduce any more unless there is an order placed for it, in which case they would fulfill the order and probably cast 1 or 2 more to keep in stock. To order one that is not in stock and needs to be reproduced, a 50% deposit is required. I also discussed the email situation. Per the gentleman the email address is as listed on the website and if received, he would provide some kind of answer. He said he had an inquiry this morning so as far as he knows, the email seems to be working. Nigel - I will contact you via PM with more detailed info!

Thank you very much for all your effort, you're a legend, much appreciated! I don't object to paying up front! Regarding the email address, I think I may have been using the CONTACT US link or something, who knows, I'll give the new information a go and post the outcome.

How much are they? I might just throw an order in to help make it worth their while

$175 plus $8 shipping in the US I was told
That is correct. By the way, I sent them a new email last night direct to service@emblemagic.com and got a reply this morning, they apologised they had not received my earlier emails, which were sent via their CONTACT US link, so maybe the link doesn't work.
Also, the earliest delivery will be October 2019, so don't hold your breath...

As an update...

Just bought a full set of rechromed bonnet trims with what is described as "replica GT Badge in aluminium, which won't crack like the plastic ones..."
These were on eBay last night, not cheap although by the time I get my original bonnet strips rechromed there won't be too much change. When they arrive, I'll let you know what the quality is like, fingers crossed that they are OK.

Thanks again for all your help guys...
Nigel

As another small update, I received a second email this morning from Ray from Emblemagic, he has since discovered THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH HIS SERVER, and the CONTACT US link is not working. He was most apologetic, hope he gets it sorted soon for his sake. Shall I send him an Invoice for my IT diagnostic services? LOL

OK guys...
The refurbished chrome and reproduction aluminium badge arrived last Friday (my Birthday!!!).
Comments are as follows:
1. The quality of the chrome was good, although one of the pieces I had done here was a bit better.
2. Love the aluminium badge, not 100% concourse correct, but looks great. On the down side it needed a little bit of careful filing to make it fit into the chrome a bit better.
3. The badge was installed into the chrome with MASKING TAPE! That was never going to cut it, but at least it was easy to remove and fit to my chrome.
4. Fitted to my chrome using a few blobs of Araldite, clamped in position. When dried I carefully smeared the inside with Sikaflex to hold it securely.
5. I'm pretty happy with the end result, although for the money it really should have been finished "ready to fit", and it wasn't...

Hello, glad you found a solution. I have a question, you posted this statement "Fitted to my chrome using a few blobs of Araldite, clamped in position. When dried I carefully smeared the inside with Sikaflex to hold it securely." What is Araldite and Sikaflex?
I have a Lancer NOS emblem (not this one, but one like it) and I am afraid that it will fall out or someone will push it out the back. I am just looking for a solution for my problem. Thanks in advance.

Your worry is exactly what I was concerned about: people playing around with it and pressing the badge out of its socket, which is why masking tape was something of a disappointment, although made it easier to remove and fit to my own chrome strip, which was better.

Araldite is a high-strength, two-part epoxy adhesive, been around for a million years...

Sikaflex is a silicone sealer, construction sealer, I used that mainly to make the back fairly smooth and rubbery so it wouldn't fill up with water and dirt, as well as flex a little bit so the chrome piece sits flat, and ensure the badge does not come adrift. This was probably unnecessary because Araldite is great all on its own...

Hope this helps, I actually thought both these products would have been available worldwide?

Thank you for the info. I have never heard of either products, I will look into both of them!
