My Dart is a 1970 Swinger 340. 4 speed, bucket seats without console. 3.91 rear. Hemi orange without vinyl top, black interior. Hood is body color with black scoops and factory hood pins. This is the way it was ordered in 1970 and is the way it is now. Rare? Or not?

4423 340 4 speeds sold according to Goober, out of 118,952 total '70 Swinger production. That's about 3.7% I believe. Rare enough in 2018. When was the last time you passed one? LOL!

Not sure about rare, but desirable.
It has all the options that people look for.
Mike

No console for 4-speed A-bodies for '70 & buckets not available in 1970 Swingers, so if it really did come that way.......... or did it?

Were hood pins really a FACTORY option for this car? ( I don't know '70 Darts )

Yes, the hood pins are factory. And yes, bucket seats were available in 1970 Darts.

The hood pins were a code J45 and cost $15.40 (Swinger 340 only)
The bucket seat option had the H6 interior code and cost $126.35 with the Swinger 340 model.
It's not like you to miss something like that Barry???
Must be age is finally catching up to you.

I wanna say that my uncle bought the same Dart in 70 but it was blue.. and I wanna say white interior. Damn, now I gotta find pictures!

340 darts are rare around my area. there used to be one in a nearby town, besides mine, but I haven't seen it in 20 years. It was Plum Crazy, with white bee stripe. The person who owned it, it was rumored that they owned it since new, and drove it for twenty plus years. The car sat in front of their house, quarters rotting away, but it was a daily driver. Wonder what happened to it.....

No vinyl roof, No hood black out treatment, No rear spoiler, but a Hi impact color. IMOP this combo makes for the cleanest, best looking 1970 340 Swinger.
I wish I had one like it.....

That's a beautiful car! Very similar to mine. The 3.91 makes for a lot of fun!
Unfortunately, the original owner put Hooker competition headers on mine, and it's borderline too loud.

Same thing, I do have factory manifolds just haven’t decided to put them or go with TTI coated headers

I have the factory manifolds, but reluctant to re-install them due to costs of changing out the collectors. Maybe some day...

I don't know if the Scat Pack decals we're factory, but they were on the car when the original owner bought it.

I believe they are original because they are cracked and crazed

They are definitely original. I just wasn't sure if they were factory or dealer installed. The original owner is a good friend of mine. Believe me, the options it has are the way it came. He was very particular about what he wanted, and he had it restored the same way.

He told me it sat on a truck in St Louis for an extra 6 weeks because of the UAW strike in 1970.

My car is a factory 340, 4-speed, 3.91 Sure-Grip car. Top Banana Yellow, black vinyl top, black bumble bee stripe, black scoops, buckets, hood pins.

I have the #'s matching engine and trans, but the car currently has a 440, 727, 4.10 Dana 60. I like to see stock restored cars, but I don't want one for myself.
