I remember these in my younger years. Was this over kill? This picture is one is on the passenger side, I don't have a picture of the drivers side.

They came from the factory, but won't fit if you use headers...
I've run without them for years without problems....

when I switched to a 4 speed I found they won't fit either. I don't think factory cars with 4 speeds had them at all. Anyhow, I've run without them too. No problems.....yet!

I might need a pair for a 340. I have a 318 with them installed now but I understand the 340 versions are a little bit longer

If anyone wants them, just go to the Pull a part of your choice and raid any 94-01 Ram, Dakota or Durango. They are plentiful.

I may raid the dakota in the driveway to put on the duster. Has anyone cracked a case without them?

I have never used on my duster and never had a problem in 20yrs and 4 engines. I do run them on a dodge truck however just because.

They are not all the same! Somewhere around 76-77 they changed the length-longer and the bosses on the block were moved ahead an inch, when they increased the length of the starter. So if anyone is using a block newer than the 76-77 you will need the long ones. I don't know about the Magnum engines.
