I have only been to Lapeer Dragway a few times, and not for about 6 or 7 years now. I will definitely have to make it there again to check out the upgrades.

Update from their FB page:
Gates open tomorrow July 4th @ 9:00 for racers and Noon for Spectators. Timing Equip may or may not be working, if not, flashlight or arm drop start heads -up racing.
Haven't been there for 4 or 5 year so I'm looking forward to see the improvements.

latest update 1/8 only tomorrow, walls are not finished.

Yesterday there was a short blurb on the local news about it. There is a new owner who used money from a legal settlement to buy the place and spiff it up. Said they had a good turnout, more than they expected, impressive considering the HOT weather. Showed cars and bikes going down the track, lot of cars and people there.
One of the improvements is pavement in the pit area, which had none before. Work is still ongoing, but definitely making the place better.
They also mentioned that it was the 50th anniversary of their opening.
