Hello All,

I hear good things about Tri-City Plating and wanted to reach out to anyone that has purchased from them in the last "year or so" regarding their pricing. Basically, did the price you paid match the posted price on their website? I ask because I called them about getting a set of bumpers at Carlisle this year. They informed me that they only had a rear bumper ready to go, fine with me. Now my concern, the price they quoted was about 20% higher than the price listed on their website. When I asked about the disparity I was informed that the website has not been updated in a very long time (???). I found this a little troubling considering the positive info on them. I just kinda felt like the quoted price was thrown at me on a whim and it give me pause. Please share your experience regarding the pricing of their products, hopefully it will ease my mind.

I just my 47’s rear bumper off to them. The price the lady who answered the phone was the same as on the website, not including the return shipping to me.

I've seen the work they do and plan on having my bumpers plated by tri city. When I called they did give a higher price than the catalog, but they were quoting me a straight purchase price without a core to trade in. After a discussion the price was the same as the online price.

Purchased a front bumper for my 66 Cuda. Beautiful work.

They already did the rear bumper and guards for my wagon. Guards were NOS but in talking with them, they said the NOS guards will not look nowhere as nice as the replated bumper. Got a NOS set of front guards and if I had not sent the guards to be done, they would have stuck out like a sore thumb. Price had gone up since I had them done maybe a year or two ago

They did not have pricing for small parts on their site last year, but I got a quote in person at Carlisle & these came out awesome.

If you are not returning a core that could explain the difference in pricing versus the web site,

I bought a bumper for my Duster and kept it literally in my house for a year before I put it on. Car is garage kept and started to pit. It was out of warranty and was a Carlisle purchase

The wagon bumper and guards they did for me is tucked away in my basement rafters. It’s still pretty much wrapped up and still as nice as the day I received it maybe a year and a half ago - maybe even longer lol!

I’ve got a 65 Dart front bumper that is still wrapped up and was done by another company - Frankford Plating in Philly in 1990 - and is still show quality. Maybe one of these years i’ll Finish the wagon and get both installed!

I've been very pleased with Tri-City's pricing and plating quality. They did the bumpers on my 65 Barracuda and for another collector car. Of course, I drove them over from South Carolina, saving the shipping costs

When replating NOS parts, make sure to tell them that they will not have to be ground or sanded in any way. Sanding marks can show up on NOS parts which can be very disconcerting and require a replating.

They probably just stripped the OEM Plating as they look just as nice as the bumper. There was no rust on the bumper so maybe all they did was strip it as well. No rust = no grinding I suppose

I went to tri city spot at 1:00 on Saturday at Carlisle to drop off my bumper to get rechromed and they already left the show. I was not happy

davescuda, I swapped out a rear bumper on Friday. I called them and they told me to make sure I get there before Saturday at 12 because they pack up and move on. The bumper I got looks very good and makes a big difference on the car. Good luck, I think it may be worth the shipping cost.

The funny thing is I called them a week before the show and told them I had a bumper to drop off and nobody told me anything about leaving early.

When I called I spoke with a women at first; she did not mention anything about it. I had to talk to Chuck about pricing and he was the one to explain and he was very adamant about getting there before noon on Sat. I understand your frustration but hang with it, you should be happy with the results.

Took my old bumpers to them and got ones that they had finished. They had me look them over and if I liked them they would take my bumpers as core. I checked them over and came home with the new ones and am very pleased with them.
