Cheapskate Cooling...

-
What pissed me off was if you look at his "blueprints" online the measurements are all correct. Except the core isn't exactly in the same place as OE. That's why you need to trim some of the mounting brackets off and then I was really pissed because I had to drill holes in the core support. I was hot about that. I didn't want any more holes in the car. I'm trying to keep it as day two as it already is and not change much more stuff on it.

I will say the radiator works good as far as cooling. That pig will run at 170 all day long, even in 100 degree heat.
Now you just need to keep it running long enough to get it to the track!

I've had 3 champions from ebay and had good luck with all 3. Both my Dusters have them in right now. usually around 200 shipped to my door

What were your dimensions? They give radiator dimensions? And overall dimensions?

Yes, I bought an E-body radiator for one, and an A-body for the other. A body fit real nice, E body needed a couple of holes drilled but it's a little bigger radiator. Both worked out just fine. I'd buy again (obviously, i'm on my 3rd :D)

I like the idea of the E body or of a big one I stuff in there! I want it so big I'd have to only keep it half full so the car will make it all the way up to 160! LOL

The Ebody does run cooler. I can hardly get it to warm up, and I don't have a shroud. I run a normal 160 stant in both mine.

Right now...I'm just hoping to walk without a limp...waiting for the scatter shield to get back (it's sitting in Fargo ND as we speak on the way to Iowa and then back) so I can out it back on.

If I can't walk not much is going to happen. That's why I'm up now surfing the web.

Can't walk? And remember it's not all about you this is about me and my radiator?! What do you think^^^

Summit Racing® Universal Fit Aluminum Radiators SUM-380328

This looks like the one that will fit. I have 28'1/4 between the frame.

that's about the same thing as mine , except mine has 1 1/4 " tubes , and is a hair wider/28x19..

Hey rose , is the pump ur talking about a 6 or 8 vane cast/curved/impellor type ?? What brand thermostat ?? I`m running a Mr. gasket stat, and it don`t look too hi flow to me . Has 3 weird shaped holes in the bottom of it, and was told by a speed shop owner that it would stick open , if it stuck. Going to fire it up today after the pump milling process. Have about 1/2" clearance on the new Jaguar 2765 clutch . 7 blade aluminum fan (steel center) that was on a diff. clutch. ???

Those summit radiators are on sale! This is not the way my luck normally works...

$90 26" 2 core alum radiator for a BMW M3, Chevy HHS Electric fan ($60 maybe RockAuto). Chop, cut, bang, curse....make fit.

380328 or the 380328-3 ? Summit
The first one is there normal 2 row single pass on sale 143.99
The second is a two-row triple pass? It's an extra 45 bucks for both are on sale.
I'm not sure if there is any pros and cons of the two. I just don't want to get caught up in spending money for more hype.

Skip the double pass. Get you flow up with a good pump and overdrive the pump and you'll be fine.

So I give the choice between a single pass radiator and a triple pass radiator and you tell me to skip the double pass radiator? It's not funny saying s*** like that to me it really messes me up!

Misread it. Double pass, triple pass...all that does is increase pumpkin losses by adding length to the system. It's a flow killer.

A good two core radiator with at least 1 inch cores will cool the hell out it (see what I did there???) and if you look you can find them with 1.25 inch cores. Single pass, high volume water pump overdriven and it will be fine.

Alright that's good. I'll pull the trigger tomorrow on that one for a hundred and forty three and see how it does.

This is how my luck works, I miss the sale and have to pay full price! I went ahead and got the one I mentioned and I dropped it in and seams to fit well. I'll have to make some brackets, but that's probably going to be simple and fun. Also some kind of cover for the top of it because it look aesthetically crappy.

it seems a little smaller in dimension, but actually it fits the stock hole pretty Square. And definitely has two rows and will have probably almost twice the volume. Also I ordered it without the automatic transmission cooler so possibly more volume for engine Cooling. AT LEAST 10 TO 12 POUNDS LIGHTER OFF THE NOSE! But that just might make up for extra water weight? LOL
