After chasing my tail for the last six months trying to cure a header clearance issue I finally sh#t canned the stock motor mount isolators and installed a set of Mity Mounts.
Man what a difference, no more header clearance issues and the car launches harder than it ever did. They are a royal pain in the *** to install but worth the trouble.
I highly recommend them

Yep but then there wont be any engine isolation from the body, and it would rattle his tooth fillings out at idle.
I run a 1 piece motor plate, w/ for and aft anchors on each side. I run a 628 lift 260 dur. street roller, and have no vibration at all. 505' 'race balanced " by hughs , reciprocating assembly. Depends on what u got !

Those kinda look like you could make your own... just drill holes all the way through, tap one side and bevel the other then thread in some countersunk bolts

The rubber is a lot stiffer than the stock isolators .

I made a 1/4" steel bracket that sandwiches between the k frame and the stock mount. It bends around behind the motor bracket so you have the dampening but it locks solid under torque. It's been in there for ten years!

I read that on their site, I'm sure they're much better quality parts overall but since I already have a set of stock biscuit mounts and don't feel like spending $150 on new ones... might be worth a shot, and still better than nothing

I like the idea. Will be doing this on my sons 69 notch. What thickness steel did you use? 1/8" or 1/4" ?

Mancini racing has the mag mounts. They have a countersunk bolt through the driver's side mount. They are around $50 I believe

I tried shims with no success, header still hit the torsion bar.
Your rubber looks in much better shape then mine did.
All I know is that the Mity Mounts worked, I just wish I had found them sooner.
$150 bucks compared to what I have invested in the car is money well spent.

Just run a 3/8" bolt through a stock motor mount. It does the same thing, but a lot cheaper.
The whole reason I replaced the isolstors was due to a header clearance problem. Had I run a 3/8 bolt thru it as you suggest I would have still had the header issue. My old isolators were junk.

1/4” the part that is sandwiched has a slot so I just slide it in from the top.

I use them on my '70 E-Body with a stroked RB. I have a shaker hood, and they allow nice movement and a positive stop. However, I just added a chain to hold the motor down while under throttle. The motor wore out my last driver's side Mitymount by almost wearing the tapered head through the metal plate. I've since bought a new set. They are great.
