Well we found the issue. Took the trans out and sent it to the trans shop. Had 2 small issues. The shift solenoid was dead and was replaced as well as a plastic bushing for the shifter ball to fall into was missing.
With these replaced the trans actually shifts now. Just need to get it back into the car and try it out.
