Well I have a friend who has a 68 notch back, he and I checked some differences between his notch back and my convertible. Just as you said his reverse lights are incorporated into the white portion of the tail light. As my convertible is RHD, (one of the Warwick Wright imports to England), my reverse lights were wired to be turn signals (European specs require all four corners to be amber for turn signals), so some sort of aftermarket rectangular reverse light was added to my rear valance as part of that modification. I will probably never find a replacement......lol
