Zac_F71's 71 Demon

Dyno session didn't go as planned-

first ran WAY late running around to 5 different parts stores for NGK plugs, then get to my builders and space valve cover bolts, rescheduled dyno for the next day, got there AND

Fired up fine, ran for 10 minutes, shut it down to set the lash hot. Pulled the covers and found 3 burnt pushrods, and the No.7 intake rod rubbing/hitting the head. Clearanced the pushrod hole while on the dyno.

Fired it back up after lubing, and setting the lash, and the motor made a horrible metal on metal sound which we discovered to be under the timing cover.

SO the motor came off the dyno and we took it back to my builders to tear the front cover off, which we found out the timing cover was dimpled in the wrong spot, and was rubbing the top half of the cam gear bolts.

Stayed at my builders til 9:30 (5 hours) fixing, cleaning, and inspecting the timing cover and pushrods/rockers. 3 new pushrods are being overnighted, and I polished more than 3 rocker arm adjusters. My builder welded a tab on the inside of the timing cover, and polished it smooth. Then the end play was set..

We should be on track to redyno the motor this coming Friday afternoon..
