900 is dirt cheap if that includes a converter. It's better to cut them apart and see what damage was done to the internals of the converter rather than just flushing it out.
A good street/strip converter is 8-900 bucks on its own.
I would agree....my trans guy charges 750 for a complete torqueflite rebuild ..........and converters, well you know what a good one costs......almost as much as a rebuild of trans
