Another Road Trip

We meandered down the 101 on Sunday heading for Pismo Beach. We wanted to do the 1 but as some of you know part of it fell into the Pacific Ocean.

Monday morning we got up and headed up the 1 to Hearst Castle. Lots of tourist, absolutely no manners, pushing and shoving, cutting in line. Oh well, took the bus up to the mansion. Very expensive tour. Actually they have three tours to chose from. The bus ride took us from the nice 65 degree ocean breeze up 85 degrees, 1600 feet overlooking the Pacific.

William Randolf Hearst had all his land fenced off where he kept wild animals from all over the world. The big horn sheep are European versions of our big horns. He even had lions and a polar bears. Those enclosures are up at the mansion and are empty. He donated them to the SF Zoo.

I make it a point to visit any Moparts or FABO members in the area I'm visiting. On Tuesday morning I visited the shop run by junior340(Andy). You won't meet a nicer guy. We've talked for years and while at Springfling this year we met for the first time. Has a real nice shop with several projects going Tuesday of last week. While I was there his neighbor stopped by and gave me a tour of his Mopar collection which is nice. In the interest of security he didn't want any pictures taken. Here's some of junior340's junk.
