Column shift 904 - 727 lnkages same or different?

Hi everybody:

I figure this Dart of mine is finally going to be mobile in about 10 months....Movie time!!! lolol. One thing I have to find out is will the linkage from the 904 work on the 727? Thanks

No, the bracket for the 727 that comes off the trans is different... If you use the 904 bracket, it will be crooked...

the 904 is about an inch narrower than a 727 so the torque shaft is longer.Cut an inch out and it will fit
when used with a 727
the transmission bracket is different as well.I believe mounting it below the transmission ear will level it
i think the the bracket from a van will work?
 
...not likely a 727 column shift torque shaft because there were just not very many column shifted 340 A bodies sold, but who knows?
I have always taken a known 904 piece,indexed it,cut an inch out between the shift arms and welded it or i have made a them with 1" 10 gauge flat stock and 1/2" round stock.
If it is a 904 torque shaft you can usually force it in and it will work but it won't be right!
