1964 Dart GT Bonnet Ornament Badge
OK guys...
The refurbished chrome and reproduction aluminium badge arrived last Friday (my Birthday!!!).
Comments are as follows:
1. The quality of the chrome was good, although one of the pieces I had done here was a bit better.
2. Love the aluminium badge, not 100% concourse correct, but looks great. On the down side it needed a little bit of careful filing to make it fit into the chrome a bit better.
3. The badge was installed into the chrome with MASKING TAPE! That was never going to cut it, but at least it was easy to remove and fit to my chrome.
4. Fitted to my chrome using a few blobs of Araldite, clamped in position. When dried I carefully smeared the inside with Sikaflex to hold it securely.
5. I'm pretty happy with the end result, although for the money it really should have been finished "ready to fit", and it wasn't...
