I am makin progress on the rat truck. Got the transmission mounted on the Hemi. Discovered the slip yoke I have is too big and slips on the output shaft. The transmission came out of a early 80 D150. Which slip yoke do I need, preferrable for a 1350 U joint? Is it 26 or 30 spline? My eyes are too dang tired to count them little splines. Thanks.

I thought so too, but I am not sure. There were 26 spline 833s as well. I just need to count the splines and see.

My 86 904 is a lockup and has 26 if that helps I'm sure alot of the 80s stuff was the same to cut cost

yup, 67 and back and aluminum OD. I have a 66 833 and it is 26 and every aluminum OD I have ever had was 26 and every cast OD I have had has been 30.

When I rebuilt the 66 833 I had a confusion because at that time I assumed all 833s were 30. So i went on a goose chase till I discovered it was the same part listed from parts house as being for a 904.

Well, mine is a truck OD, and it has an aluminum main case with a cast iron tail shaft. I will count the splines tomorrow when I am not so dang tired and report back. Thanks!

Mine is indeed a 30 spline. So, I don't know what the hell kinda slip yoke I have. It "fits" but it slips in engagement when turning the output shaft. Obviously, the slip yoke is for the wrong application.

If you have a known good 727 yoke it should fit. That is what I used in my duster when I put the D150 slant OD in it.

Well, it makes some sense that the truck transmission would take the larger one. I don't have one though. Anybody got one they want to sell? Preferably the 1350 u joint, because my rear joint is the 1410.

Unfortunately the only extra one I have is a 26 spline from a lock up 904 I replaced with a non lock. Check ebay sometimes you can find deals on there. New ones are expensive

I have. There are a few, but all of them are more than what I can spare right now. No biggie. Not like I am in a hurry. Thanks for all the replies yall.

If I come across a deal on one il pm ya!

Thanks. I actually found a good part number for the 1410 U joint slip yoke, which is what I really want, but of course, the number is obsolete and discontinued. #thestruggleisreal.

The number is 3-3-3251X

How can I tell what Joint is in the slip yoke? I have a couple that might work

Truthfully, I really don't care what size the u joint is. The truck will weigh only about 2500 pounds when finished, so it's not like it needs a huge one. I wanted the 1410 u joint, because that's what matches the rear u joint in the Dana 70, so, the simpler the better, right? But it really makes no difference. As long as it's a 30 spline and for a Mopar 727 or 833, that will work.

I had some at one time, but no more...sorry, man

Hey Rob, I'm headed to Perry tomorrow. What was the name of the Hot Dog place? And the name of the one we ate?
