Hello FABO members. Just joined after grabbing this 1-owner 64 Barracuda 273 auto with 67k miles almost 2 weeks ago. It had been sitting in a barn/garage for 30+ years in the town I live in. Saw it on the way to work and didn’t know what it was until I stopped. They were asking $800 so........later that day, I became a first-time Mopar owner. Glad to be a member and very appreciative of what I’ve learned and have the opportunity to learn!

Welcome, thats a serious score for 8 bills. How about more pictures when you get a chance

8 bills? You stole it.
Looks weathered but bring-back-able.
Yes, more photos would be nice.

Thanks guys. Here are some more pics after putting a little elbow grease into it. Engine won’t turn over but I’m hoping the Marvel Mystery Oil will work its magic!

Welcome! Glad to have another in the fish bowl. It sure looks better with the coat of elbow grease too.

Flat tires always make a car look worse than it is.

Amazing what a transformation once you air up the tires and get the car off the ground and give it a bath …..what a difference.

Sweet find

Love the valve covers! Offenhauser was the name in those days.
It may look a little rough around the edges, but the cleanup made a big improvement.
When i got mine it was an empty shell, all in pieces. And lots of stuff was/is covered in filler.
Brass and rust mudded over.
You have an unmolested canvas, can see everything.
Looking forward to your progress.

Offys AND a 1 barrel! Turn the clock back 25 years and I was in the same boat, I see a 20 year old barn find (warehouse out here in LA) with a for sale sign on it, I buy it that day, and I paid....$800! Its almost the same color as mine too but mine was a 65 and a deeper copper color. My motor started with a jump and a very quick trip to a gas station, drove it home 20 miles on 5 of 8 cylinders, and 1976 tags...! New points (dual points) and 8 spark plugs brought it full circle. Welcome aboard! You could probably sell those Offys for $200 alone

PS, I just noticed your steering wheel is not cracked...now that is a score!

Welcome, I am new here too. Looks like a great start to a fun project. I love the interior - looks to be in excellent shape.

What a great find. Having the interior in such good shape is a huge bonus. The mechanical stuff is the cheapest and usually easiest to fix. Those rockers and lower quarters look like they need some love though.
