Thinking of just using a Holley black
4-500 dollar pump is just hard to swallow
Here's what I’m thinking
Black pump,regulator and return
And 5/8 fuel line
Any one see a problem with this idea
If I have I guess buy a expensive pump
But really don’t wanna
Thanks

If IIRC isn't the black pump ok for alcohol? I would just make sure to get a much better regulator.

When I first turbo'd mine with an E85 blow thru carb i ran an inline Walbro 255, Aeromotive FPR with the lite spring for low pressure and a 1/2" feed and return. The Walbro 392 is inexpensive and E85 proof I believe.

The black pump is OK for e85. Remember you need a metal/SS gas filter media. Paper filters will break down real fast.

If the black pump is just OK why would u want to chance a melt down? Isn’t ur motor worth it or is it a junker? There is places to save money , but not in the fuel system. Kim

Used a 140 gph pump off ebay for 50 bucks for 10 yrs on our 71 dart...ran on gas for many years and switch to E85 for the last 5 yrs I guess....never missed a beat using AN8 hose to the regulator.....pump still worked went i replaced it with another 50 dollar pump and is in the box as a spare.....Dart now has a 410 and still on E85.......

This is the one on the car now.....hey...it is billet....the old one was not...so we stepped up some...
if you buy the Holley black or blue pump you might want to check the box and see where it was made.....

I ran a Holley Black pump with 1/2 line on e85 for years on my 410, no issues at all, good AFR even on the top end. Like others said, be sure to use a steel mesh filter instead of paper.

As you increase the diameter of the fuel line, you need to increase the line pressure. The fuel column gets heavier and you need to overcome that fuel column with pressure.

Never forget, you can have pressure and no flow.

I just purchased an entire magnafuel system.
I called them and told them e85 or methanol(not decided yet)
They asked how much horsepower and where the pump would be located(truck mounted pump and 3 gallon cell.
Methanol is worse case scenario because of volume.
They recommended their top of the line pro star because of g force
And wheels up(gravity) trying to stall fuel. If pump was front mounted quick star would be enough. Number 10 line from pump to regulator and 12 line from fuel cell to pump.
And an 8 line from regulator to carb. They recommended the optional
Pump bypass spring if there was trouble regulating pressure.
I went with ptfe lines for compatibility with any fuel.
Not cheap. But once and done. Agreed about metal filter element too.

5/8 line is severs overkill. Do you plan on a 2500 HP upgrade in the future?

That is the rating on gasoline. It is 1500 on alcohol because of volume differences. Location of the pump is a factor as well. Pro stockers have fuel cell in front of car because the acceleration assists fuel feed. Truck mount is opposite. Stalls fuel. Methanol is almost twice the volume consumed as race gasoline.
