Compared to a carburetor is no comparison, you spend more time messing with carb than fi.

Wondering about road trips and breaking down. I’m good with carbs. So they don’t worry me any.

I really couldn't tell you but they have been out for awhile with good success. I'm doing the 4500 sniper on my 499 but it will be some time before I finish

------------------------WARNING FIRESTORM STARTER----------------------------------------------------Careful , u`ll get everyone`s opinion, much like the news media, instead of actual facts.
There are a couple of guys on here that know their stuff tho . Iq52 and ANDT F. are the first that come to mind.

Hey, Andyf
where did you get the coolant filler neck adapter for the efi sensor

I'm going to make more and add them to the website but it will take a few weeks. I had a bunch of guys over on Moparts ask me the same question when I posted that picture so I guess there are people besides me that want that part.

Thanks for sharing this stuff, Andy. I have the standard Sniper, just did the first datalog to see what´s going on...and found that my converter is flashing over 5000 rpm. I put some more power into the engine, so maybe that´s why it did not pick up at the track.....wanna say this datalogging is really useful, i´m not able to check all these things during full throttle operation.

Michael

Hello Andy how did your 512 low deck work with that dual-plane manifold? Have you tried a single-plane also? I'm doing a for 99 and I'm trying to decide from what I hear even though it's Street driven it should use a single plane your thoughts?

Video of my car on the chassis dyno today with the Holley Super Sniper system:

It made 485 rwhp. This is on pump gas with a hyd roller cam and cast iron exhaust manifolds.

Andy, did you change over to the progressive linkage? if so, do you like it better for street driving?

Michael

Progressive linkage isn't recommended for the Sniper. I tried it but then went back to 1:1 linkage. The AE curve has to be changed to work with progressive linkage and nobody tells you how to do it so you're on your own there.

ah, ok. I read the instructions from EFI Systems Pro, the kit is not expensive....maybe i´ll try by myself.

Michael

He doesn't tell you how to change the AE curve. He just sells you the linkage and then you're on your own.

The problem is that the Sniper AE (accelerator pump for you carb guys) is designed to squirt fuel in as all four throttle blades open. When you switch to progressive the fronts open up and then at about 35% TPS the rears open more rapidly. So at 35% TPS you need a bunch of AE.

If you really want to pursue the progressive linkage then you should at least start by studying the AE curves that a progressive linkage TBI setup uses. Start with the Terminator and maybe try one of those. It will look like a shark fin. If none of this makes any sense to you then you might not want to mess with it.
