Hey i run my car on the street so i have radial's. I would like to keep the correct look with about a 27" tall front skinny, like the old firestones and BFG's. anybody know if there is anything?

Got a pair of these cheapies on my car, 3.5" rim.

Not the best looking, but for as cheap as there are, IDC :D

They're less than 25.5" tall is the only bad thing. Hoosier makes a 26" radial and Mickey Thompson makes a 28".

look for a VW Beatle spec tire. My Michelin XZX 165 SR15 is 25 tall on a Centerline runner. Cheap Nankang N-803 VW tire is about 24" off the rim no air, maybe add an inch. Those Kumhos are said to be 23.9"
P185/85-15 M&H Racemaster is a 27" tall runner, look at cokertire.com and plug in a few sizes http://www.cokertire.com/m-h-front-runner-185-85d15.html

I have Kuhmo's 165sr 15 radials on 15" x 4"'s ,if measures needed....

i wanted to stay radial though, thats the rub, or i would just match my hoosiers

I have tires like the pic in the 2nd post, its a VW tire like a 185R15 or something on 15x4" Cragar mags and I hate them, they don't ride better than bias ply tires IMO......the thing I hate most is how the tire "squats" or looks low, even with over inflated by 5-10 psi....so much sidewall flex too.

I am going back to bias ply on the front, 6.50-15, they were better on my car for track and street. I have M/T front runners on some torq thrust rims and they are far better too than radials :glasses7:

215 70 r 15 , 5-51/2" rim

195/75/15 hard to find but i think they are still out there. They are about 26.5" tall, and fairly narrow. I came across a set a couple years ago. Burned one pair up but saving the other pair for the skinny slots for the front of my charger.

That might be because they are OVERLOADED! How much weight do you have on those tiny tires?

Those are tough, but a 205/75R15 is easy enough to get and a 215/75 even more so.

165 "80" R 15 is what I have on the front of the Dart right now and are 26 3/8 '' tall.

I run the Kumho Powerstar 165/80-15 on my car and they are just under 26" tall. Good tire for my purpose but I have to run them at max psi (44) or they look underinflated. I don't know how much your car weighs but that's something to think about. For the record my car is 3200 lbs with me.

Look at the load rating on the tires. 165's spec'd for VW's are WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.
They will have a very hard time being safe or looking properly inflated.

A lot of these tires are only load-rated at around 900 lbs each. You need something
closer to 1300 lbs and up......then they won't look flat with 50 lbs of air in them.

Yea my car is class raced at 3200 but its getting close to 50/50. I havn't rescaled it with the plexi side glass, front glass, and glass bumpers yet.

The Nankang 145/78R15's have a wimpy load rating of 937 lbs while the Michelin XZX 165/70R15s have a load rating of 1200 lbs. I wont run the Nankangs..anyone know what the stock front end of a 65 weighs with a 6 and a 360?
