Hi all:

I hope to take Ruby (1965 Barracuda) to Bandimere Speedway in the next two weeks. In order to pass tech, I need a coolant overflow.

What are the early A people using and where do you put it?

Thank you in advance.

Back in the 70s my dad used an orange juice bottle and a home made brkt.

I assume you don't want to permanently add an overflow, Maybe you can use magnets to attach it. You might be able to epoxy magnets into the bottle and have it stick? There are tons of more attractive ones on google.

Are you going to the Mopar Car Show in Fort Collins tomorrow? If so look for the well used blue 67 convertible with the top down!

I am not certain the NHRA will go for an orange juice bottle. :)

Permanent is fine. The space I would imagine for an overflow is occupied by horns.

I had not planned on it but perhaps I should. How long do you plan to be there?

9:00 to 2:00 rain or shine with my top is down. the top probably will self destruct if I try to put it back up so I made some bows and have some plastic in case it rains. THAT alone would be a sight to see!

And overflow bottles are optional

I was planning to work on the car tomorrow. I will make the call in the morning.

If I come, it will be without the Barracuda. I am not ready to trust her for that distance.

I used that square one in the ad and used some bent up brake line to mount it remotely in my truck. the hard line has 4" of hose on the ends to hook up to the can and the rad spud. IIRC the square one feeds from the bottom and you put it about level with the rad. There is no pressure cap on it.

That Dorman piece is what I have used for 25 years on my 65' dart.I have it mounted in front of the core support on the left in front of the horns......

From the photo, it appears the tank is mounted between the radiator and grill. If so, no room for that in a little A.
Yes that picture is of my b body. Some a body people hamburger this between the battery and radiator support.

Used this billet one from summit on my 65 Dart. Think it was $25.
Relocated horns to grill side of rad. support for cleaner look & easy access.

I used this one. Yeah, it was a little expensive, but with a simple L-bracket it fits perfect just to the right of the radiator. On my '69 Dart anyway I didn't have to move the horns or anything. Meziere Enterprises WR100C

Thank you for that. At this point I need a temporary solution to get through NHRA tech. I may learn the stock, shroudless radiator is not up to the task. If so, I will order a new Champion radiator with shroud and overflow.
