Finally have convertor matched well and 2-step working. It was in low 90s F and track prep was ok, but there weren’t a lot of people running. After blowing the tires off, then chattering them we put down a 10.66/125.86 with 1.46 60ft. Car with me weighs 3380 lbs. Shifting at 6800 and going through traps around 6,900. (Before convertor swap I went as high as 7,200 ... think we can do that with this set up and gain a bit more ). Launching at 3400 with trans brake. With new 2-way adjustbles we’re putting on and bit better conditions we should launch higher and post better numbers.

Set up:

Tires: rear > MT ET Street Radial Pro P275/60R15. Rear End: Dana 60, 4.56 gears, Rear Suspension: Cal Tracs (-1) mono leaf with Cal Trac shocks, Transmission: ATI PRO T400 TRANSMISSION, 383 bored/stroked to 431 CI (4.25 x 3.375 to 4.28 x 3.75) designed for PUMP GAS, internally & externally balanced, Heads: Trick Flow® PowerPort® 240, Camshaft: mechanical roller, Howards Cams - 721883-08. DURATION: 263/269 (in/ex) at 050/LIFT .675/.650, LSA 108 degrees, Pistons: Ross, H beam/Callies, Scat 4340 crank, Harland rocker arms, Pushrods: Smith Bros, Morel solid roller lifters Edelbrock Victor Intake Manifolds 2886, F.A.S.T XFI 2.0.

Made it through Drag Week last year - 1,013miles no problem except we burned up 4 alternators. That is solved. Best time last year was 10.95 at 129 with 1.86 60ft. So you see why we needed to change the convertor. And now fiberglass hood to shed some weight.

It’s a balance of NA on pump gas that can take a week of 1k miles reliably and put down a respectable number.

Been a blast to get back into racing. Doing it for the fun. And the cool people involved in it. I still can’t get over how fast the **** is now. Lol. 10s are nothing. We’ll keep trying to edge it down.
