Ahh...you bought the cc unit! Okay..so IF I still have that other speedo cable....do you even need it at this point? Though I doubt I do but I only have a few places to look.

Had a retired GM pro do the seats- he even fixed the springs and bolstered the driver's seat for me. Need to see 'em in person to catch the red outlining (can't think of the word).

I threw her together; had to learn metal work and polishing on the grill inserts- rest was elbow grease and lucky spare parts collecting.

Finished painting the door insides.
Installed new door seals.
Lubed window lifts.
Re-mounted pass side mirror with self-locking hardware.
Got the door panel, upper panel trim, armrest, base, and handle installed on the drive side.
New window whiskers all around. Good day despite the heat.

You are doing a great job. Looks great from the pix's you've posted up. To bad the old ones were messed up from the website change.

My wife has a Subaru Crosstrek, which is a compact car built on the Impreza chassis. It is wider and way taller than my Barracuda; not quite as long, and weighs about the same. I saw a Dart on the highway a few weeks back and it looked tiny in traffic. I guess we have to remember that our early Barracudas were built on the small car platform!

Hope things are going well for you and your family out there!!!

Glad you are still vertical! Long time since a post!

Vertical, yes. Just worn the f out. No progress on the car due, largely, to trying to start a business. Gotta make $ in order to finish project. Well, now that I've said that, its absolute b-s. I have parts and stuff I could have worked on that require no pennies whatsoever but finding the drive has been tough.

Anywho, one thing I need to get happening is my tranny's front seal which I probably dinged last time I reinstalled the motor. I'm more than capable of pulling the 904 in my garage but what, honestly, are the odds that i can get it back in without repeating the front seal nick? Is this best done by a trans shop? I will need a trans shop anyway to actually replace that seal so.....opinions?

All aside, good to hear from you guys. Been a long time!

It is very possible that the torque converter snout is cracked. This is very common on a 904, perhaps more common than a seal leak, and presents the same. I get the whole lost the drive thing, it happens to me, but once I get out in the garage with a nice drink and some tunes playing I fall right back into my old groove.

Hey man, good to see you dropping in!

Maybe some good tunes out in garage will help.

I'm pushed out to the garage getting away from a 32 year old stepson who's drinking damn near cost him his life in a house fire a couple months ago. Now he's living here (along with us already raising his 10 year old son.

That's all the motivation I need to get away for some therapy!

Damn. That would drive me further than the garage!

So, if I pull the trans, how easy to recognize a broken TC snout ?

Quite easy. When they crack, the cracks originate in the corners of the two slots that drive the transmission oil pump. The ones that I have seen have been obvious, quite apparent to the naked eye.
