EL5 340...

Hey NY,Yes its a duster.she my baby..
My intentions joining this forum was to find out some information about this car.I'm a life long mopar head, have had more than a few A's and B's.Being a "anti"E car or Hemi B car, theres always been a Lack of attainable info on the "A" 's.It's a beautiful car.Talked my twin sister into buying it when we were in high school(1982),always thinking that one day it'd be mine, and it is.I've never seen the color combo on any other duster.the data plates are what puzzle me the most.hopefully I'll gain the knowledge of these and other things on this site. You must be a barracuda guy from your pic? what does that sport?

"what does that sport?" I guess your asking what motor? That one is a factory '69 440/auto 'cuda package notchback with 67xx original miles, NOM or trans.....Drag car from day 1. All original metal except fender well header patches with paint re-shot in '88-'89 (car not taken apart).

How about some pics of your EL5. Auto or 4spd?
If you want to post fender tag pic, i or others will decode for you.

Actually,I won't be able to post any pics till next spring.I am heading over seas till next spring. The car is a 3spd manual. white stripes, black out hood treatment w/the 340 decal.I've decoded the first tag...the second one is simply stamped "2C".I had one gentleman tell me in the past that it was #2 of a five car production with that color combo and options package. I don't remember who it was,I think it might've been someone at a car show , swap or something.regardless,I have yet to confirm that or deny it.anyway...That's always been a curious thing to me that I would love answered. my other car is a 68 383 4spd green road runner.haven't drove it since highschool ,someday though.my oldest daughter has her name all over it.it has a history too.supposedly shipped to japan via an aircraft carrier,in 1968,(passed to me by the second owner).trying to obtain pictures to verify, unfortunatly the original owner has long passed.Hard to believe to me being wartime and all,but rank is everything I guess. will talk again soon....

Could you post the date tag codes? Sounds like one cool car!
not off the top of my head.I'm here, its home. yes its a pretty nice car.i started to re do it in '06(actually 01) then parked it in the garage and there it sits.need to get a couple of door panels and put the door glass back in.other than that, its begging to be driven. back when I had it repainted,i almost changed it to plum.it was a hard decision not to.when I met with my body man ,he was upset I went with the pukey yellow it was.and then the decal guy refused to put the stripes back on white. I had purchased a set of black ones, thinking they would stand out a little better, but at the last minute I went ahead and bought the white ones to keep the car as it was. the guys co worker installed the stripes and when the first guy seen it afterwards,he told me that he was mistaken and that in fact was the best looking car he ever saw. being an empty nester now,and when my hitch is up here, both of my Plymouths will be back on the road...….

heres the only pic I have on line anyway. and yes somebody got married....

this is a photo from 1983 actually.cant believe we had dirt on it.....
